On April 8th, 2021, I received my first COVID-19 vaccination, and I was sitting in the U OF W hospital; after receiving my shots in the waiting area, I started to feel peculiar. Remembering when the injection released its venom into my vein, it felt like blinds closed over my head. Ten minutes later, I am in the ED, surrounded by a team of ten emergency staffers working to save my life. Two epi-pens and three IVs in my arm, my throat and face are swollen, and my lungs are closing. My body is in a full-blown anaphylactic allergic reaction. Three days later, I was released from the ICU unit in a wheelchair. Again, those essential workers saved my life. Hence, the ESSENTIAL WORKER twenty painting.
